Important Reminders:

• We have library Tuesday from 2:30-3:00.

Weekly Objectives:

Writing:  In writing this week, we will begin publishing our personal narratives!  I am so proud of how much work the students have put into their stories!

Reading:  This week we will be focusing on author's purpose.  We will look at many nonfiction texts during our mini-lesson as well as guided reading groups!

Science:  This week in science, we will be discussing and reviewing the scientific method as well as the tools that scientists use!

Math:  This week we are going to continue Chapter 2: Addition.  We will focus on estimating sums and adding three-digit numbers!

Weekly Objectives:

Writing:  In writing this week, we will be focusing on adding dialogue and meaningful endings to our personal narratives!

Reading:  This week we will continue to focus on visualization to understand a story.  We will work on connecting our mental images to the text! 

Social Studies:  This week we will have our Chapter 2 test on Tuesday!  On Wednesday, we will begin our first science unit!

Math:  This week we are going to begin Chapter 2: Addition.  We will focus on addition properties and addition patterns.

Meeting our Buddies!

Today we had a great time reading with and meeting our kindergarten buddies!  I can tell the third graders really enjoy this leadership role!
