Fire Prevention Month

Yesterday we had a very special guest!  Mrs. Taylor (Romy's mom) came to our classroom in her firefighter uniform and gear to talk to us about fire prevention. We learned that October is fire prevention month!  We discussed ways to prevent fires in the home and what to do if there is a fire in your home. The kids were extremely engaged throughout the entire presentation!  I could tell they learned a lot from Mrs. Taylor and we are so thankful she took time out of her day to chat with us on this important topic!

Disability Awareness Month

October is disability awareness month! On Monday, the whole third grade gathered to learn about this special month. Mrs. Joy read the book "Why Me?" by Julie Parker. We then split up into groups and created posters that showed the different abilities that everyone can have!  I think third grade truly learned a lot from this activity!

"It's not disability, it's different abilities!"
