Important Reminders:
- Monday is Fun Day! Please have students dress comfortably and remember to bring a water bottle.
- Tuesday is our "Wear Red" day. It is also the school-wide MAP celebration and students are asked to dress like super heroes. They may choose either one of the options to dress in!
- Wednesday is our end of the year party! We would love to see you at the party which will start at 2:00. If you plan to attend, please park at the Farmer's Club!
- Thursday is Fly Up day. Make sure to ask your students all about the 4th grade teachers they will meet!
- Please have students wear their Blue Ribbon t-shirts on Friday for our assembly.
- Friday is our last day and it is a half day! School will dismiss at 11:50.

Important Reminders:
Writing: This week we will finish up our poetry unit. We will be sharing our collection of published poems as a class!
Reading: During reading this week, we are going to work on thinking within, beyond, and about our texts. We will work on asking questions while we read that allow for deeper thinking. We will be looking at poetry and song lyrics and discussing ways to think deeply about the poems we read.
Science: This week we will begin science chapter 9: Energy. We will learn that energy takes many forms, causes motion and creates change. Our test on this chapter will be on Tuesday!
Math: This week in math, we will review concepts that we have previously learned such as fractions, multiplication, and division.

- Today is our pizza party! Thank you to those who have sent in the pizza money, if you have not done so, please send in the money today!

Writing: This week we will continue our poetry unit. We will focus editing, revising, and publishing our poems into each students' own special collection of poems.
Reading: During reading this week, we are going to work on thinking within, beyond, and about our texts. We will work on asking questions while we read that allow for deeper thinking. We will be looking at poetry and ways to think deeply about the poems we read.

Important Reminders:
Writing: This week we will continue our poetry unit. We will focus on the structure of our poems and how to use meaningful line breaks. We will also work on eliminating unnecessary information in order to make our poems more meaningful.
Reading: During reading this week, we are going to work on thinking within, beyond, and about our texts. We will work on asking questions while we read that allow for deeper thinking.
Science/Word Study: This week we will continue science chapter 8: Matter. We will focus on the properties of matter and the states they can state. Our test on this chapter will be on Thursday the 30th. Along with our normal lessons, we have begun an economic project in replace of word study for the next few weeks. With this project, students have been working in groups to create a good or service and an advertisement along with that good or service that they will present to the class. We will begin presentations on Monday!
Math: This week in math, we will review chapter 13: Perimeter and Area. We briefly took a look at this chapter before the MAP test but we are going to go back to it in order to take a deeper look at each lesson. This week we will focus on finding the area of composite figures by decomposing the figures into smaller rectangles. The test on this chapter will be on Friday, May 1st.
